  Link   Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
Rides and amusements right next to the beach, and free concerts on Friday nights. The famous, "Giant Dipper" roller coaster can be seen in several movies, among them, "Sudden Impact," 'The Lost Boys," and "Dangerous Minds." Bring a sweater or fleece if you plan to be there in the evening!

  Link   Capitola
A quieter beach experience than Santa Cruz, with all the benefits of seaside dining and shops to stroll. Beautiful views.
529
  Link   Lick Observatory
A research unit of the University of California, the Lick Observatory is located at the top of Mount Hamilton and is a leading astronomical research observatory with a long and disitnguished history. Lick is a leader in the development of new instruments and observing techniques, and an active center for teaching. Largest among its nine research-grade telescopes is the Shane 3-meter Reflector, active since 1960. The 3-meter is in operation every clear night of the year, used by many different astronomers from within the UC system for a variety of projects ranging from observations of our solar system to distant galaxies. UC astronomers, using the telescopes on Mt. Hamilton have contributed to virtually every area of optical and infrared astronomy.

  Link   Monterey Bay Aquarium
The Monterey Bay Aquarium overlooks beautiful Monterey Bay from historic Cannery Row, next door to Pacific Grove and just minutes from Carmel and Pebble Beach. Exhibits include otters, a kelp forest, jellyfish and a terrific touch pool.

  Link   Sausalito
Cute town, with fun shops and bistros, and some spectacular views of San Francisco. A great place to visit after crossing over the Golden Gate Bridge.
531
  Link   Carmel-By-The-Sea
Clint Eastwood's home is a fun place to visit. Stroll the art galleries and boutiques on Ocean Ave and its cross-streets, eat at one of the great restaurants or stroll down to the beautiful beach to relax by the waves.
507
  Link   Half Moon Bay
We always bring visitors "over the hill" to Half Moon Bay, and they are always surprised that such a quaint little town, right on the ocean, is so close. The beaches are beautiful, the shops are eclectic, and there are lots of good restaurants. Our favorite is the Miramar Beach Restaurant: http://www.miramarbeachrestaurant.com
